Gadgetleak: vivo X100s Teasers Emerge Before May Launch

Exciting leaks of the much-anticipated vivo X100s have surfaced, offering a sneak peek into what to expect from this upcoming smartphone. Departing from its predecessor’s curved design, the X100s embraces a sleeker, flatter aesthetic, as revealed in these exclusive images. Sources indicate that vivo is gearing up to unveil not just the X100s but also its Pro and Ultra variants in May.

The X100s boasts a flat frame complemented by a textured finish, coupled with a subtly curved (2.5D) rear glass panel. Its camera island features a distinctive knurled ring housing four cameras. Notably, the camera setup appears to mirror that of the X100, featuring a versatile 15-70mm configuration with an ultrawide 15mm lens, a periscope zoom at 70mm, and a 50MP f/1.6 primary camera.

Drawing inspiration from the iPhone 15 Pro, vivo has adopted a similar design language for the X100s, featuring a flat-edged display and a comparable color scheme. However, the X100s stands out for its svelte profile, measuring a mere 7.89mm in thickness (compared to 8.3mm for the iPhone).

The color palette for the X100s is expected to include options like white, black, cyan, and titanium. Under the hood, the X100s is rumored to pack a punch with the likely inclusion of a Dimensity 9300+ chip, boasting higher-clocked Cortex-X4 cores running at 3.4GHz.

With regards to pricing, the X100s is anticipated to be competitively priced, likely in line with its predecessor, the X100, which started at CNY 3,999. This pricing strategy aims to position the X100s as a more affordable alternative to its Apple counterpart.

In terms of availability, while the X100 initially debuted as a China-exclusive device before later expanding globally in 2023, the trajectory for the X100s is expected to follow a similar path, catering to both domestic and international markets.
